A sturdy working knife...
Scandinavian knives have changed very little from Viking times to the present age. Whilst there are regional variations when made in their home land, all varieties have been whittled down to an elegant combination of functionality and beauty. Handles are always round or elliptical in cross section with a swollen belly designed for a full and hardworking grip that allows even small knives to be employed for big tasks. With a firm and comfortable hold, you can really put your body behind one of these blades when needed.
All the knives I make are accompanied by custom made sheaths. My sheaths are made from 100% vegetable tanned leather and stitched with waxed linen thread. There a no metal fastenings secure the knife or the sheath, rather the belt loops and hangers are molded into the sheath as it is made.
Scandi knives can be created for you as commissioned pieces. At times I may have a number of knives in stock and these can be purchased by contacting me.
I am currently importing blades for my scandi knives from Finland. These blades are outstanding quality and take a razor edge. I am able to forge and grind blades to meet specific customer requirements, however the cost of the Finnish blades makes it possible to create a fantastic knife at a more realistic price.
Please take the time to view my gallery of past work.
